To study designs in
context the home lab has recently been adapted to support research on
flexible offices environments and well being. The lab includes an
extensive atmosphere control system, localization technology, activity
modeling and wireless instruments for measuring physiological
stress.
Design forms a central part
of the research. Over the past years numerous prototypes have been
created demonstrating intelligent multimodal interaction with a product
containing embedded user and task knowledge.

The carrousel (1) enables users to sculpt atmospheres in the home lab by shaping the flags and adjusting the stage rotation speed.
MusicCube (2) enables users to expressively interact with a music database by utilizing gestures, speech feedback and color side displays.
Expressive stress relievers developed as part of work in the course Interactive Technology Design.
