studiohome:

To study designs in context the home lab has recently been adapted to support research on flexible offices environments and well being. The lab includes an extensive atmosphere control system, localization technology, activity modeling and wireless instruments for measuring physiological stress.

Prototypes

Design forms a central part of the research. Over the past years numerous prototypes have been created demonstrating intelligent multimodal interaction with a product containing embedded user and task knowledge.

carrousel: 1         musiccube: 2         poco:

The carrousel (1) enables users to sculpt atmospheres in the home lab by shaping the flags and adjusting the stage rotation speed.

MusicCube (2) enables users to expressively interact with a music database by utilizing gestures, speech feedback and color side displays.

wigo: squeeze-it: marmoro:

Expressive stress relievers developed as part of work in the course Interactive Technology Design.

elliot:

Elliot is a tangible interface for controling a two-dimensional affective atmosphere space in the office.

thermostat:

The intelligent thermostat enables users to collaboratively interact with the thermostat which detects user patterns and suggest comfort and energy settings. The interface combines conversational dialogue with a touch screen and is based on principles of mixed initiative.
