March 2006. Bart painting a butterfly on a Delftware tile.

Bart van den Berg's Labmark

Hi everyone,

From March - November 2006 I worked at the ID-Studiolab on project Light Blue. With this project I concluded the MSc program 'design for interaction'.

In project Light Blue I worked on a new media design tool for Royal Delft. Royal Delft is the company that produces the famous Delftware. The result of the project is a product which I called the BlueBrush.

The BlueBrush is a tangible toolbox that lets users compose Delftware decorations. By projecting the compositions with a beamer, the decoration becomes directly visible on the 'real' ceramic product. Please read more about the whole project on the 'Light Blue' page.

The project was supervised by prof. Pieter Jan Stappers and Daniel Saakes, who applies similar techniques in the product development process with Skin.

If you are interested to see some of my previous projects, feel free to visit my portfolio website anytime.
