Hogeschool Utrecht (HU) or Utrecht University of Applied Sciences
Many PhD positions are financially covered by sponsoring companies. In my case my PhD position is funded by Utrech University of Applied Sciences. More and more "Hogescholen" as this type of university is called in Dutch, want to expand their research capabilities. At the moment their main activity is education. By funding PhD positions the HU hopes to develop research. For this reason I also teach classes to the Bachelor Product Design and Engineering for one day a week. I teach research methods, conceptualisation, I mentor graduation students and design projects.
Aside from teaching, at the HU I am also involved in a number of projects, primarily projects connected to the Conceptspace (www.conceptspace.nl).
